Challenge
Customer wanted a durable driveway and yard renovation, worried about concrete cracking and uneven foundation settlement caused by improper construction.
Solution
Our team carried out a detailed site assessment and assigned a professional hardscaping crew. The project divided the yard into two separate zones with different construction plans.
🔹 Driveway Zone: Crushed Rock Base + Steel Mesh + Concrete The driveway bears heavy vehicle loads. Workers laid crushed rock base first, then placed steel reinforcement mesh as the skeleton of concrete to stop cracks from repeated vehicle traffic. The mesh was lifted by spacers to be fully wrapped inside concrete instead of lying flat on ground. The crushed rock base was layered and compacted with thickness of 20–30 cm or more, no shortcuts taken.
🔹 Non-Driveway Zones: Direct Concrete Finish For patios, walkways and other yard surfaces without vehicle loads, we applied direct concrete finish without steel mesh. We control costs reasonably while guaranteeing daily usage performance.
🔹 A weak foundation will cause severe cracking and settlement within 2 years and require costly rework. We never skip critical base works especially for driveways. Build properly once for long-term durability.
Results
- Custom construction plan for different zones
- Reinforced concrete driveway for heavy vehicle load
- Solid layered compacted crushed rock base
- Cost-effective solution for non-traffic yard areas
